This page is available in English (UK) , Italian

Saturday, September 13 – 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM | Briefing Room
Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Racetrack, Imola

Starting from an idea by Leonardo Guardigli, and in collaboration with the Municipality of Lugo di Romagna and the Francesco Baracca Museum, the project FORMULA COMICS: COMICS ON TRACK was created — a way to tell, through comic strips, the lives of some of the most important champions of four-wheel racing, focusing especially on their human and historical side.

Each of the ten participating artists was assigned a Formula 1 driver to portray in two pages, with the choice made based on style and a likely/possible affinity with each artist. The project began with an exhibition at the Baracca Museum in Lugo in March 2024, and will continue traveling to venues such as the Imola Racetrack, Ferrari Museums, and Monza National Racetrack, coinciding with major sporting events.

The city of Lugo was not chosen by chance as the starting point: it is the birthplace of Francesco Baracca, the famous World War I fighter ace who adopted the prancing horse as the emblem of his regiment — the very same symbol that Enzo Ferrari first used in 1932, when he was a driver in the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium.

On display: Simone Angelini, Paolo Bacilieri, Mara Cerri, Gianluca Costantini, Vincenzo Filosa, Francesca Ghermandi, Piero Macola, Antonio Pronostico, Filippo Scòzzari, Gianluigi Toccafondo.
