I had the pleasure of being a guest on Radio3Mondo on Rai Radio3 to talk about my project dedicated to the journalists killed in the Gaza Strip.
In recent hours, “Gideon’s Chariots” has begun, a military offensive that Israeli leaders have described as a potential long-term occupation of the Gaza Strip. The destruction of the Strip continues, as do the deaths—including more than one hundred journalists killed. It is precisely to them, and to the entire Palestinian people, that the visual project “In the Crosshairs of Memory: Portraits of Journalists Killed in Palestine” by Gianluca Costantini is dedicated; since October 7 he has been depicting the faces of the journalists who fell in the Strip.
Another exhibition is dedicated to Gaza, but this time to its archaeological artifacts. At the Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) in Paris, the show “Treasures Saved from Gaza: 5,000 Years of History” displays 130 artifacts uncovered during excavations in the Strip—artifacts that might otherwise have been lost. We discussed this with Gianluca Costantini and with Lorenzo Nigro, Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology at Sapienza University of Rome. On the microphones, Anna Maria Giordano.
