Disrespectful M+

A museum in Hong Kong has removed a photograph by Ai Weiwei that shows him raising his middle finger in Tiananmen Square, after a pro-Beijing politician branded it “vulgar” and “disrespectful”.
The M+ Museum, which is due to open at the end of the year in the West Kowloon cultural district, confirmed that it had pulled the artist’s 1997 photograph and would not show it at the opening. The photo has also been removed from the museum’s official website. Continue
