Documenting press freedom and the risks faced by journalists reporting from southern Lebanon.

From 2023 to 2026, CPJ continues to document and investigate attacks on the press in the context of the ongoing conflict, which also involves Lebanon. Lebanese journalists face increasing risks while covering hostilities along the southern border, where clashes and military operations remain intense.
CPJ monitors all reports of journalists killed, injured, detained, or missing, highlighting the growing dangers for media workers in Lebanon. In this context, documenting these cases remains essential to ensure accountability and defend press freedom in the region. The information and texts are sourced from the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
The portraits of affected journalists are available in high resolution for download, publication, printing, and sharing.
