An Unfiltered Portrait of Racism and Dehumanisation in Today’s Italy

A video presents, in their entirety, the reactions to the drawing “Help, Enough.”, published on Facebook following the death of Abderrahim Fakir. The first two hours are now available online.

“Help, Enough.” is a drawing I published on Facebook on 20 July, following the death of Abderrahim Fakir.

The post received 26,565 comments: a vast cesspit of racism, cynicism, hatred and inhumanity. I decided to collect every one of them, unfiltered, in a single video with a total running time of 34 hours.

It is a difficult document to watch: an uninterrupted stream of words that lays bare, with brutal clarity, the attitudes, language and beliefs of a segment of Italian society today.

These are not merely comments posted on social media. Taken together, they form a collective portrait, revealing how verbal violence, contempt and dehumanisation have become ordinary, acceptable and endlessly repeatable.

The first two hours of the project are available here: https://www.facebook.com/reel/960860233688260

The complete 34-hour video can be watched or downloaded at the following link:
