In the Crosshairs of Memory”: Exhibition of Portraits of Journalists Killed in Gaza Opens in Bari

Artist and activist Gianluca Costantini presents a powerful series of portraits at Casa delle Culture in Bari — a tribute to Palestinian journalists and a call to defend truth, justice, and human dignity.

At the Casa delle Culture in the city of Bari, managed by Medtraining, my exhibition “In the Crosshairs of Memory” is currently on display — a collection of portraits dedicated to journalists killed in Gaza.
Through these drawings, I continue my commitment to defending human rights, which remains the most distinctive feature of my artistic work. Each face tells a story of courage and truth, inviting viewers to reflect on freedom, justice, and human dignity — themes that, now more than ever, we cannot afford to forget.

The portraits on display have already traveled widely: they have been exhibited in Atlanta, New York, Berlin, Seattle, and Naples, and now arrive in Bari, at Casa delle Culture, as an act of protest against the ongoing genocide and as a gesture of solidarity with the Palestinian people and the many Palestinian visitors and guests who frequent this space.

The Casa delle Culture, a multifunctional center of the City of Bari, is funded through the PN Metro Plus and Città Medie Sud 2021–2027 program and managed by the Medtraining social cooperative, in partnership with the San Giovanni di Dio cooperative.
