An exhibition of portraits honouring journalists killed in Gaza, part of the “Faces of Peace” programme for dialogue, art and human rights.

On 26 November, in the beautiful Heiliggeistkirche in Bern, my exhibition “In the Crosshairs of Memory” opens, dedicated to the journalists killed in Palestine since 7 October 2023.
My work is part of the wider project “Faces of Peace”, an exhibition and programme of events taking place from 26 November to 10 December 2025 at the Heiliggeistkirche in Bern, organised by offene kirche bern in collaboration with the organisation Pro Peace.
My portraits are conceived as gestures of memory and responsibility: faces of journalists, regardless of their background, who lost their lives in Gaza. In drawing them, I try to give them not only a face but also a voice, telling the circumstances of their deaths and recalling the reason why they were there: to document, to bear witness, to refuse to look away.

The exhibition “Faces of Peace” brings together three independent paths, each with its own story:
- the ten “citizens of the world” portrayed by Pro Peace, people who have experienced war, flight and civic engagement, and who, through non-violent dialogue, artistic exchange and human rights work, try to mend what has been broken;
- Zelt der Völker (Tent of Nations / Nassar Farm), the vineyard of the Palestinian Nassar family, south of Bethlehem, a place devoted to peace and coexistence;
- and my own work as an illustrator and activist, weaving drawing and memory together so that these stories do not vanish in the noise of war.
The programme accompanying the exhibition is rich in encounters and opportunities for exchange:
- 26 November 2025: opening evening with vernissage, aperitif, Palestinian food and music, and contributions by Christoph Bongard (Pro Peace) and Daoud and Jihan Nassar (Tent of Nations);
- 27 November 2025: the event “We refuse to be enemies – nonviolent resistance in times of war” with Daoud and Jihan Nassar, organised by the Schweizerischer Freundeskreis Zelt der Völker;
- 10 December 2025: celebration of the International Human Rights Day, with testimonies from people engaged in peace work, the participation of various peace organisations and members of the group heiliggeist interreligiös, a candle stall by Amnesty International, and music by Isabel Lerchmüller on the shakuhachi flute.
Being part of this journey, inside a space as full of history as the Heiliggeistkirche, together with people and organisations who work every day for peace, is a great honour for me. My drawings are created to remember those who can no longer speak, but also to lend strength to those who still do.
A special thank-you to the association Pecore Ribelli.
